Subject: sources about Norman Corwin
Alan Bell recently wrote,
I'm looking for an article that critically assesses Corwin's radio work.
You might look at my book, Words AT WAR (Scarecrow Press, 2002). See
especially the profile of Corwin in chapter two and pages 336-337 as well as
footnotes that identify some of the sources that I used about Corwin.
In addition see the following dissertation: McGann, Mary E. Voices in the
Night: The Radio Drama of Norman Corwin, Archibald MacLeish, Louis McNeice

A pal of mine in Metro Washington OTR Club heard a LIGHTS OUT?broadcast of

Digester know if the complete show survived?
I did?some research into the matter when?my Gotham Radio Players recreated
"Chicken Heart" some years back, and as far as I could determine, no copy -
complete or partial - of the original broadcast has [removed] In fact,?our
recreation was probably the first time the complete original script had been
heard since the 1940'[removed] Arch Oboler did do a 1960's recreation of part
of?"Chicken Heart"?as part of his "Drop Dead" record album, but that consists
of only about?half?of the 30-minute [removed]

Subject: Common mistakes
I've been responsible for enough errors that have gotten by all the proofers
into print despite every intent to the contrary that I feel somewhat
hypocritical bringing up those appearing elsewhere. Nevertheless, it
continues to shock me how some perceptibly "authoritative" sources make
obvious blunders and nobody corrects them.
Reading from The Museum of Broadcast Communications website, an organization
that "ought" to know differently, there's this statement leading to the
separation of NBC's Red and Blue chains: "The 1938-41 radio-network
investigation resulted in a highly publicized and controversial report which
included specific proposals for reform. The FCC report cited several
problems with CBS and NBC, the two then-existing radio networks."
Hellooooooooooooooo. Anybody at the Museum of Broadcast Communications
familiar with MBS? It was organized in September 1934.
