An interesting Christmas rememberence from audio book narrator Scott Brick.
If you're a fan of commercial audio books like I am, you probably have not
passed by a book narrated by Scott, an award-winning narrator. Here's his
story, narrated by him, as he reads his blog post about how he reunited his
great-grandfather with voices from the past. The voices are those of The Two
Black Crows.

On an unrelated note, Scott told me in an e-mail, when we were discussing
OTR, that for his reading of Frankenstein, he found the 1932 George Edwards
production very helpful in getting the feeling of the story.
Enjoy Scott's personal Christmas story. I did very much.

SAME TIME, SAME STATION

On this week's show we begin to move towards Christmas programming with
one slight detour.

This first program shows you how well Radio dealt with disasters.

We begin with "The Terrible Rains". this was a CBS special done to
chronicle the horrible flooding which took place in Putnam Connecticut.

Edward R. Murrow anchors the program which aired on September 1, 1955.

We begin our Christmas offerings with "The Aldrich Family"
from 12/16/48, Spending A Quiet Evening At Home.

After a look at what is happening in the radio community, we hear the
Chase and Sanborn Hour
with Don Ameche and Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy, with guest May West.
Episode 32 aired on 12/12/37.

You may remember that on last week's Same Time, Same Station, we heard
an interview with Don Ameche who talked about his memories of this
program in particular.

John and Larry Gassman, whose show, "Same Time, Same Station," is heard on
Jerry Haendiges' Olde Tyme Radio Network, recently recorded an interview
with Dick Bertel and Bob Scherago about the 1970's WTIC program, "The Golden
Age of Radio." The show was aired on December 5th, 2010, and will remain on
line until next Sunday.

That interview can now be heard on our own website, [removed]
