Subject: Help

HI Everyone

There is a radio program about a man in a hospital.
He can't talk, has no arms or legs. I think he was
injured in the war. The program is his thoughts. I
believe everyone thinks he's in a coma. Does this
sound familiar to anyone? I'm trying to locate this
show for my son.

Thanks, in advance, for all help.

Anne

X-Converted-To-Plain-Text: Alternative section used was text/plain

With respect to Jim Hilliker's querey about whether the 1931 USC football
announcer on KFI was THE Don Wilson--it was. See Don Wilson's interview in
Mel
Simons' new book: "Old-Time Radio Memories" (BearManor Media, c. 2007).
Although Mel is a friend, the usual disclaimers apply--except that he has been
known to buy me an adult beverage at the FOTR Convention!

Mr. Wilson explains in the book (pp. 50-51) that he broadcast the Pacific
Coast, NBC network football games starting in 1928--29 (color) and from
1930--33
(play-by-play). He was invited to New York in the fall of 1933 to be a sports
announcer. Then in the spring of 1934 he was one of many to audition for
announcer on a radio show, called "The Jack Benny Show." But that's another
story.

Subject: Dragnet "The Big Thanksgiving"

I am trying to find out if the radio show Dragnet did a Thanksgiving show.
The other day a nostalgia company called Shokus Video sent me a flyer
advertising TV shows with holiday episodes on them. Dragnet is one of them
with a
Thanksgiving TV episode titled "The Big Thanksgiving" 1955. Is there a radio
version by the same title? If so, can anyone give the air date of the radio
version if it exist.

Subject: Converting tape to MP3 gaget.

I came across something which might be of interest to those who are
interested in converting cassette to MP3.

[removed] has a item on page 38 of their catalog "convert your old audio
cassette tapes to MP3 Files". It fits in a [removed]" bay and includes the
software. Has auto reverse too. Might be worth checking out if anyone is
interested.

I have no financial involvement with Cyberguys.

[ADMINISTRIVIA: The Plusdeck2c PC Cassette Deck is also available at The
Geeks (and for _considerably_ less; it's currently on-sale for $78!), where
we get a small commission on any purchases you make after clicking-through on
this link and accepting cookies:

It's part of the rotating front-page; you can also search for "Plusdeck"
in the search box. While you're there, check out some of the other cool
electronics they have.

Subject: "Dracula" recreation in Kenosha, WI

I haven't seen any mention of this yet (though I know people directly
involved in it are on this list), so I thought I'd stick in a
third-party plug for a recreation of the Mercury Theater's version of
Dracula that's happening on Halloween in Kenosha, WI. My uncle will be
playing the organ for this one, but otherwise I have no connection to
this. (And since I live 500 miles away, I can't see it, alas.) It's
only five bucks, and is preceded by a dramatic reading of Poe's The
Tell Tale Heart (which my uncle saw a dress rehearsal of, and he tells
me it's pretty creepy). If you want more info, go to:
