Any Digester have anything more to contribute on this
subject?
Checked the usual computerized newspaper databases but I'm afraid I didn't
find much. It looks like the series was being syndicated by the fall of '59
at the earliest. Here's an ad for the show from the 20 September 1959 Helena
(MT) Independent Record:
[removed]
According to the Amarillo (TX) Globe-Times radio listings, KGNC aired it in
November-December '59 at 9:40 [removed] weeknights just before "News & Weather" at
9:45.
In September and October '59, the Chicago Tribune occasionally lists a show
as "Rathbone" which aired at 6:30 p. m. over WNMP. But I couldn't tell if
this was Basil or some other Rathbone.

Subject: Charlie Chan In OTR Case

In response to Melanie's question re Charlie Chan in an
OTR mystery, I too watched and taped the three Chan
movies presented by TCM. The one she referred to was
"The Scarlet Clue".
I am a Charlie Chan fan and have taped a lot of the "Chan"
movies. Rather than tie the Digest up with non-otr trivia, if
Melanie would like more info and a source for movies, she
make contact me off-line.
Best Regards,
Bill
