Subject: More Script Writer and pseudonym questions
X-Converted-To-Plain-Text: from multipart/alternative
X-Converted-To-Plain-Text: Alternative section used was text/plain
Thanks to Stewart and Anthony for answering my scriptwriter pseudonym question
which
has opened a topic I am hoping to learn more [removed] am thinking that
money would be a possible motive as writers needed to make a living and
may
have seen opportunity to cash in.
Do you guys think it is possible that a
reason to write for competing stations and/or shows
is also simply because
another show needed scripts and the "word" was out that such and such
detective/drama/mystery shows was in need of scripts? Didnt all these people
(speaking regionally),
know each other? I mean couldn't a producer who knows
and has worked with other writers call their
other contacts and request new
scripts for their show, pay them cash and a pseudonym is born?
Also, much
thanks to Anthony Tollin for the input on Robert Arthur and the Shadow scripts
conversation.
Now I have not been in this hobby for veyr long (only 10 years,
so I wasnt aware nor have I heard that info.
I know that Robert Arthur has his
name on 4 Shadow scripts of which I have and David Kogan has at least one.
I
also realize that in Anthony's 1984 interview with Kogan we are enlightened as
to how their particular
collaborartion worked [removed] info!
I have so many
questions in this arena. Who was Jim Parsons? I dont see his name credited in
my Dunning but he
wrote a slew of Nick Carter scripts. Was he real? I know
Arthur and Kogan had some common denominators like
Jock Macgegor and Himan
Bown. I also know that Kogan did write for Bulldog Drummond and The Thin Man,
but how many?
And which ones?
Thanks!
Mike

I'm sure most of us have heard, at one time or another, episodes of the AFRS
show GI Jive, hosted by a young (?) woman who calls herself Jill. I'm
probably like every soldier/sailor who heard that show during the war in that
I wonder what this gal looked like. I wonder if anyone on this list has any
idea who she was. Just a WAC who worked in the AFRS's main office in DC (or
in San Francisco? LA? NY? Omaha?). Did she go on to a career in broadcasting?
Was she a slim, cute 20-something (of every guy's dream) or a plump,
matronly, middle aged grandmother?
Who was "Jill"?
