Hello, I'm new here on the Digest, although I've enjoyed OTR for years.

I recently found the announcement from Audio Cinema Entertainment about their
plans to re-recreate the I Love a Mystery programs. But other than the
announcement, I cannot find any other information about the project, even
though the announcement was made a year and a half ago. Does anyone know
anything more? Is the project still active?

85 years ago tonight, George D. Hay placed octogenarian fiddler Uncle Jimmy
Thompson before the microphone of WSM.

The "WSM Barn Dance" would become the "Grand Ole Opry" two years later.

Thank you, Judge Hay!

(BTW we have a tribute show tonight on my "Bluegrass Ramble" radio show. See
below).

Subject: On the topic of sharing

I'm extremely empathetic to Martin Grams' call for the Superman scripts, and
more extensively, his plea issued to anyone who may possess actual radio
scripts that might be incorporated into preservation of old time radio. Not
only do authors rely on such materials, these would be exceedingly welcomed
by certain permanent data repositories as well as the libraries of OTR
clubs. I'm not suggesting that individuals possessing sole copies should
give them up, but what a satisfying feeling to duplicate them for
preservation and passing them on to sources indicating to you in advance
that your materials would be welcomed. This could be one of the valuable
legacies you personally leave to the hobby. I urge you to examine what you
have, inquire into potential sources to determine if more copies exist, and
consider sharing your rare one-of-a-kind materials with people who can use
them after you have no further use for them. I think you might truly feel
blessed in doing so.
