I came across an entry for the above-named show in Dunning's Encyclopedia and
was intrigued by it. A Google search turned up a pretty positive review of it
in a June, 1941 issue of Time. A sort of sci-fi series not aimed at kids in
1941? This I gotta hear.
So I found what was ostensibly a copy of it at [removed], except that it
was mis-labeled and turned out to be something called Tony Won's Scrapbook.
So, does anyone on this list happen to know where one could find a copy of
what is apparently the only surviving episode of this serial?
Alan

In elementary school we listened to cassettes of OTR and Amos and Andy had a
show where they owned a restaurant. They were going to impress a food critic
with "Crepe Suzettes". Well, as I recollect, they assumed the wrong person
was the food critic. I want to find this episode

A faithful member of both the Metropolitan Washington Old Time Radio Club and
SPERDVAC, Adam died October 13, 2014 at St. Luke's Warren Hospital,
Phillipsburg, NJ where he had been hospitalized for three weeks. He was 80
years old; he and his beloved wife, Carole, (who died three years prior) were
regular attendees at the Friends of Old-Time Radio Convention in Newark for
two decades, where they met many Digesters.
Adam was the Quiz Master of MWOTRC and created numerous quizes, which we
published in RADIO RECALL. He liked to joke about the fact that he also lived
in Washington (New Jersey, that is.) He and his son, John, drove down to the
MWOTRC's 30th Anniversary Banquet in VA this June and both were in fine
spirits.
A Korean War veteran, he was a long-time supervisor at M & M's Mars of
Hackettstown, NJ. His survivors include sons, John and Robert, and daughters,
Susan and Teri, twelve grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, most of
whom live in the Lehigh Valley area of NJ and PA. There was no funeral; he
was cremated and a private family service was held. (Info at
<[removed]>) Family requests memorial donations be sent to St.
Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Our club has been unable to contact family members. Adam's last address was
135 S. Lincoln Ave, Washington, NJ 07882-2219 and we presume family members
are still collecting his mail there.
