Walden Hughes and John Gassman and I will do a tribute to the last
week of the shows in September on the 50th anniversary year.
Did anyone ever talk to or get an interview with Bruno Zirato Jr?
I also will look to see who was on those shows for possible
interviews for Same Time, Same Same Station, and the YUSA Friday night show.
If you have ideas, please contact me.

Subject: looking for Jimmy Durante - Garry Moore Show

I posted this request on this list quite a while ago, but never got a
response. I'm trying to track down a particular show. I know the guest
vocalist was someone named Susan Ellers (not sure of the spelling) and one of
the sketches involved Garry and Jimmy becoming lawyers and another sketch was
"a typical day in the life of Humphrey Bogart". I did Google search and found
several episodes, but none of them had any of these points in the
description. Any ideas of where else I can look? Thanks!

I'll second Dr. Smethers' promotion of the Great Plains Radio Symposium. I
don't know of too many Digest readers in the general area here but I've gone
the last two years with a couple other Digest subscribers and we've all found
it to be a day well spent. It's a different experience than the conventions
but fun and educational nonntheless.

Subject: looking for the Wild Adventures of Peter Fugitive

Hi.

Everyone I ask about this NTR show has never heard of it, so even though its
not technically OTR, I thought I'd ask here. Back in the 60s, DJ Art Roberts
had this humorous adventure serial on his show on WLS out of Chicago. A
short episode every night, IIRC. I found some references to the serial on the
net, but I can't find any info regarding whether or not recordings still
exist.

Subject: Orson Welles and radio and free speech

Dan Hughes asked, on behalf of someone on the Cincinnati board, about a
tribute to radio and free speech that aired just
before or during World War II, with Orson Welles as narrator.

I'd have to listen to it to confirm, but it may be Norman Corwin's "We Hold
These Truths", which aired Dec. 15, 1941 and commemorated the 150th
anniversary of the Bill of Rights.

It was collected in both The Greatest OTR of the 20th century and America at
War, both of which were cassette tape collections.
