I certainly would ... and would point out that one can usually fly to Las
Vegas for far less than Los Angeles ... regardless of where you live in the
US.

Subject: Captain Midnight - Ovaltine-Sponsored Programs
Thanks to Jay Hickerson's recent questions, I further searched my
recordings of Ovaltine-sponsored Captain Midnight radio programs and
found three more serial episodes! So below is a revised list, which
now comes to an even three dozen programs. As far as I know, there
are 35 Ovaltine-sponsored (15-minute) serial episodes and one
half-hour standalone program (namely, "The Flying Ruby"
adventure). Here is the current list, although broadcast dates might
still not be right for every program:
1 The Origin of Captain Midnight, 400930
2 The Origin of Captain Midnight - The Masked Stranger, 401001
3 Submarine Attack - Two Submarines, 410609
4 Tiger Tong - Car, 411024
5 Assignment Under the Sea, 421008
6 Destruction from the Sky, 421120
7 Fighting with the Commandos, 421124
8 Nazi Submarine Base, 421230
9 Trapped by the Nazis 430216
10 Challenge of the Crossed Swords, 430222
11 The Silver Dagger Strikes (1), 430409
12 The Silver Dagger Strikes (2), 430421
13 The Secret Squadron Strikes, 430526
14 The Philippines Fight On, 431009
15 Flight for Freedom, 431126
16 Signal from the Sky, 431202
17 East of Formosa, 431208
18 Suicide Squadron (1), 440117
19 Suicide Squadron (2), 440120
20 Suicide Squadron (3), 440121
21 Mountain Battle, 440420
22 Prisoner of the Japs, 440424
23 Dangerous Flight, 441101
24 Above the Volcano, 450403
25 Death in the Sky, 1945 (I'm not sure, but suspect this episode
occurred after Germany's 450508 surrender.)
26 Double Crossed, 460814
27 The Man with the Missing Finger, 470211
28 The Slave Smugglers, 470312
29 The Map of Mystery, 470407
30 The Stolen Star, 470514
31 The Jewels of the Queen of Sheba, 480326
32 The Return of Ivan Shark (1), 490107
33 The Return of Ivan Shark (2) - The Cave Men Attack, 490110
34 The Devil on Ice, 490204
35 The Phantom Rustlers, Spring 1949
36 The Flying Ruby (30-minute standalone), Fall 1949
If anybody knows of any more Ovaltine-sponsored recordings, or has
verified date corrections, please advise.
Thanks, Happy New Year, and Happy Landings!

Subject: Jack Benny for General Tire
Moving along with early Jack Benny. Here are the existing shows from 1934.
They are starting to sound a bit more like Benny, but really need better
scripts. Sadly getting rid of Harry Conn will be a necessary step forward in
a year or so. These shows often seem a bit fragmented, I think the disks were
in pretty bad shape and some bit just couldn't be transferred.

Sorry to hear that Don't Touch That Dial is going away. Any chance you can
produce it for streaming on the internet? These days that can be almost as
good. Still I understand, I lost my radio job a decade ago and still miss
live radio.
