A prominent OTR researcher and writer, Stan Claussen, passed away this week in
Washington state. He was a long-time member of both REPS and SPERDVAC and a
frequent contributor of articles to OTR hobby journals. He was also one of the
contributing authors to the book that David Siegel and I recently produced,
RADIO RIDES THE RANGE (McFarland, 2014).

Stan was the audio theater producer at the American Museum of Radio and
Electricity in Bellingham, WA and was also an instructor of Radio History and
Drama in the Academy of Lifelong Learning Program at Western Washington
University. Both he and his wife, Jan, as actors, performed in radio
re-creations at several REPS functions.

Cards of sympathy and support can reach his widow, Jan Claussen, at:

3781 Brownsville Pl.
Bellingham, WA 98226-9483

Rest in Peace, Stan.

Folks;

First off, don't miss this week's SummersTime on Radio Once More - we
celebrate the Ides of March by listening to programs that aired on March 15th!

As many of you know, Copy will be closing down in May. I am making a bunch
of material available to Digest readers on Copy, and will need to move to a
different cloud storage system (it would be rather expensive to serve these
files from my own servers). I have a bunch of candidates, but would
appreciate some help in testing out some of the different systems to see
which (if any) will make a reasonable replacement. If you're willing to help
me test out systems, drop me a note. If I get enough volunteers, each will
only need to test one or two until we get close to a finalist. We're looking
for a system that has a reasonable amount of data available to users for
free, makes it relatively simple to share files with other users, and
hopefully something that won't close down the way Baraccuda's Copy will.

         Charlie
