A weekly [removed]

For the best in OTR Chat, join IRC (Internet Relay Chat), StarLink-IRC
Network, the channel name is #OldRadio. We meet Thursdays at 8 PM Eastern
and go on, and on! The oldest OTR Chat Channel, it has been in existence
over nine years, same time, same channel! Started by Lois Culver, widow
of actor Howard Culver, this is the place to be on Thursday night for
real-time OTR talk!

Our "regulars" include OTR actors, soundmen, collectors, listeners, and
others interested in enjoying OTR from points all over the world. Discussions
range from favorite shows to almost anything else under the sun (sometimes
it's hard for us to stay on-topic)...but even if it isn't always focused,
it's always a good time!

For more info, contact charlie@[removed]. We hope to see you there, this
week and every week!

Any collection that honors heroes of old time radio collecting has to
include Max Schmid and his "Golden Age of Radio" on WBAI. Max has kept
old time radio alive in New York for over 25 years

Mainly out of his own pocket. And often in spite of BAI, rather then with
its support.

As Jay Hickerson says every year, he's responsible for
bringing in more people to the FOTR than anyone else.

Include me in that number. (With, as stated before, Mr. Summers close behind
in the Cheerleader squad.)

Max is also a bulwark of the Gotham group, and was "the Founder of the
Feast" for Quicksilver's CHRISTMAS CAROL - our first production (at the "old"
BAI
on Eighth Ave., and with one of Bob & Ray's doors!)

Happy Halloween,
-Craig W.

Subject: Three Investigators

I have an audio file of two "Three Investigators" adaptations, based on
the books by Robert Arthur (who wrote for Mysterious Traveler, Strange
Dr Weird, Suspense, and many other shows). I think they're from the
late 70s. Does anybody know anything about these? I presume they're
from albums. I don't recognize any of the voices. They're not works of
art but they're reasonably enjoyable to listen to. (I've had fun
re-reading some of the books recently--I used to enjoy these a lot
about 25 years ago.)
