A listener to Heritage Theatre asked me if I knew anything about recordings of
the DICK CAVETT show during the
period of the Democratic National Convention in 1965 that featured some
hilarious bits with BOB & RAY, with
a montage of Pres. Johnson behind them. Anyone know of these? <<Tom>>

A friend contacted me looking for a spoken audio (might be OTR?) version of
the story Child of All Ages by [removed] Plauger.
If anyone has heard of such a thing please let me know. If it isn't OTR,
please contact me off list.
Thank you,

This is an odd request, and a longshot, but obviously when I realized I had
an spoken audio need, I thought of you. Years and years ago I had a tape of
a reading of a somewhat obscure science-fiction story called "Child of All
Ages" by P. J. Plauger. It was released as part of a series of books-on-tape
of science fiction stories but as it happens I only ever listened to it once,
then lost it.

"I just got some AFRS Suspense discs in the mail today, one of which is
AFRS Suspense episode number 8, the original performance of "Sorry Wrong

I can verify that this disc has the "flub", for those that are interested
in documenting this."
I can also verify that the original broadcast had that all important "flub"
at the climax of the show.
I dubbed the CBS network discs for preservation some years back and, sure
enough, that flub WAS there.
What a way to "kill" a fantastic half hour of Suspense.

Subject: [removed] "The Martian Death March"
I'm sure many of you are already aware of [removed], but I just
re-discovered it after a few years and it seems to have grown since my last
visit. It's got many hundreds of plot synopses (as does
[removed]) but the cool thing about OtrPlotSpot is that it
specializes in Science Fiction and Horror and it has many "best of" lists,
webmaster recommendations and reviews. Those really help separate the wheat
from the chaff.
Last night based on one of their recommendations I listened to "The Martian
Death March" from X-Minus-One. Great show! Highly recommended, especially
in light of all the news from Mars in recent weeks.

Hello all,
Does anyone have a publicity photo of NBC announcer Bob Brown (Vic and Sade

It's for an exhibit I'm putting together.

Subject: Re: Old Radio Actors on Tube
Joe asked:
I have a question for those who had grown up on radio and old enough to
know who was who during the OTV era if they, or knew of anyone, who
thought "So that's what so-and-so looks like!" when a otr actor popped
up on a show?
Yes, I'm one of those who always "image" when listening. I listen to names
on OTR and watch credits on old movies to see if I recognize any of the radio
group. I normally cannot afford to attend the OTR conventions, but I was
fortunate to send for & receive a copy of a convention about a year or so ago
where Michael Biel was on the guest panel along with other notables. What
made it interesting was that recently after I received that, I was watching a
movie on TV or DVD (I collect old TV shows as well as OTR) and, lo and
behold, there was Michael. Another thing that I've noticed is that some of
the older TV character actors have similar voices to those on the old radio
shows and I'll investigate and sometimes find they were related. I can't say
right at this moment who they are, though - I'd have to go back through my
shows again. I wonder, has anyone else also noticed the "voice"
similarities? Thanks again for this list - I enjoy it immensely. Penne

Subject: It's a crime, Mr. Collins
Hello folks, a question:
I've been listening to "TAOT Abbotts" with first Les Damon and then
Mandel Kramer in the lead and I understand that this "Collins" show had
Kramer playing Collins and that it used many of the same scripts as
"Abbots". But I also understand that there was an Australian version
that sounded very similar. Can anyone clarify? How do I know I've got
an American "Collins" program? How many American episodes survive?
I'm eager to hear this series and any help is appreciated.
TIA, pfm

Subject: THE GREEN HORNET to Become Major Motion Picture
According to The Internet Movie Database:
[removed]
Comedy star Seth Rogen, 26 years old, has been signed to play Britt Reid
in the big screen adaptation of THE GREEN HORNET.
Seth Rogen and James Franco star in the new movie, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS,
opening today.
They play two drug-users on the run from gun-toting villains.
According to this article:
[removed]
In real life, Seth Rogen admits he is a regular drug user and thinks
marijuana use should be legal. A few nights ago, I saw Seth Rogen on THE
TONIGHT SHOW and he asked Jay Leno if he ever used drugs. Rogen seemed
very disappointed when Leno said, "No."
Being a school teacher, I am very concerned with the problem of drug use
by today's students. I am extremely disappointed by the decision to cast
Seth Rogen as Britt Reid. We all know that if George W. Trendle was
alive, he would strongly disapprove of this casting choice.
Oh, by the way, Seth Rogen's next movie, to be released later this year,
will be ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO.
