A great story of personal OTR by Tom Barnett I too, signed up for OTR
Digest in 1996, while living in California. In 1997, wife & I moved back to
Minnesota, and in 1998 we lived in Eagan, MN just up the road from
Lakeville, where the originator of the Digest lived. While I never met him
in person, he and I had a few phone conversations, and I was saddened upon
hearing of his passing in a car crash. I never found out if he was doing his
job when the crash happened, but knew he was a pizza delivery person. GL

Thank you Tom for a great post. While I was reading your post I was
thinking about our special friend Hal Stone. I hope in 2019 we can locate
the interviews that Hal, Bob and Rosemary did on the radio stations in Ohio
before they would be the special guest at Nostalgia convention.

Merry Christmas to all and to All a good Night,

Walden

Well said, Tom, and I thank you for recalling so many wonderful memories
about the list. I've been a subscriber since the mid-90s, too, and miss
the lively discussions from back then, but am still grateful to be here
with you all. I was introduced to OTR by my dad while I was a teen in
the 80s, and he and I still love it at ages 51 and 82.

Oh, Tom, don't forget about some of the April Fools jokes that really
got some folks riled up!

Merry Christmas!

Jay,
I have some old radio studio recordings that were given to me by Shirley
Haner.
Would anyone be interested in them?

Thank you for bringing back so many memories of past digests. Before Facebook
this was the place to learn all about things happening in the radio world.
Unfortunately many of us forget that some OTR fans are not on Facebook and
therefore miss out on some of the information posted there. I shall try to
remember to share the little that I post there on here also. For those who
may not already know, for the last 21 months I've been sharing the SPERDVAC
meetings from the 1970s, 80s and 90s on SPERDVAC's website. Go to
[removed] and click on SPERDVAC Presents. It's available for listening or
downloading free. Enjoy! Merry Christmas, everyone!

[While Facebook has a place, it should be noted that the Russian Federation
has never advertised on the Internet OTR Digest. Also, since the only piece
of personal information we retain is an email address (hard to deliver the
Digest without it), no hacking incident on our servers could possibly result
in identity theft. --cfs3]
