I'm so sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. I had a number of digital interactions with him over the years. Met him briefly at the only OTR convention I ever attended, back in 2015. Received one or two physical mailings from him, back in the days when people would mail CDs and DVDs to each other to swap [removed]
I hope the Digest continues for a while longer. I've been on here since 2003. At that time, it got about 500 messages a year -- one or two day. It's been dwindling steadily as people drifted away or found other means to exchange OTR-related information. Last year there were only 57 digest mailings. That's barely one a week. I always looked forward to reading it. Charlie has left an important OTR legacy, as Martin Grams outlined in his blog. (And nothing I've seen online has touched on Charlie's passionate interest in the career of Bob Edwards.) This digest was an important part of his impact on the hobby.

Charlie will be missed.
Regards,Kermyt

Holy [removed] never expected the OTR Digest to deliver this [removed] Charlie is
undoubtedly laughing somewhere that he set up the Digest to run on its own!B
So young, does anyone know the cause of death (only asking if it was
COVID-related).B B

Thanks are not enough to Charlie and his family for their devotion to this
newsletter and the hobby in [removed] My heart grieves for his family.

Godspeed Charlie, and I hope they have broadband in Heaven.

Thanks for sharing this sad news, Joe. Charlie made an impact on so many =
of us through the OTR Digest. He gave us a wonderful means of chatting =
and learning about our shared hobby. I am really grateful for his =
generosity to us and very sad to learn of his passing at such a young =

I found a short obituary for him at this URL: =

The OTR hobby has lost a great friend, but more importantly, the Summers =
family has lost someone much more important. Praying for comfort for =
them.
