Subject: Help need a Burns & Allen date

I have a problem I want have my OTR collection to have accurate date,
and that is almost impossible. So I turn the experts those who
contribute to the OTR DIGEST.

I need a Burns & Allen (Maxwell House Coffee Time) expert. I have a B&A
episode that is an AFRS rebroadcast that was between Sept. 1945 and June
of 1949. It is good show but I have no date. My title is "George Thinks
He is Loosing His Hair".

Meredith Willson , Bill Goodwin and Toby Reed announces.

My episode starts with Toby Reed's introduction. "well the Burn's
household has been increased by the arrival of little stranger, a
Chinese Cook named Wong. . At the moment Gracie is discussing his duties.

Gracie - Now Wong, first of all I want to tell you that Mr. Burns and I
are very pleased with your cooking."

As the story continues Wong has maid duties etc. George's hair brush is
loaded with hair so he thinks he is loosing his hair. It turns out that
he is not loosing his hair, because Wong used George brush to brush
Gracie's old fur coat and the coat was shedding it fur.

I have studied all the B&A logs and didn't find any thing about George
going bald, except Jerry Haendiges had an episode # 25 dated 2/19//48 that
is called "GEORGE IS LOSING HIS HAIR" , That date is about George wanting to
invest in meat, because the prices and down. That show titled "Keeping George
>From Making Decision" according to several other logs. Can anyone help a poor
old man. Please.

Subject: Another death-David P. Kogan

From Tangent Online Science fiction website:

From Dave Truesdale (creator of the Tangent website):

It is with great sadness that I report the death of David P. Kogan, the
co-writer, producer, and director of the OTR series THE MYSTERIOUS TRAVELER.

His son, Kenneth, just emailed to say his dad passed away August 6th. A
long and fulfilled life was granted him and may he now rest in peace.

As noted in my introduction to the pair of OTR episodes (which you can
find at the Old Time Radio link on Tangent Online's front page)

[I have provided the link below-Max]

Mr. Kogan, along with his partner Robert Arthur, also published a The
Mysterious Traveler fantasy magazine, which published the likes of Ray
Bradbury, as well as other names well known to the SF community.

----end forwarded message---

I paid tribute to him on last night's Golden Age of Radio show with
episodes of the Mysterious Traveler and Murder By Experts, on which he
appeared, receiving the Edgar Award for best radio Mystery show. (He
also was involved in The Sealed Book, which I think re-used scripts
from The Mysterious Traveler). You can listen to the program in the
WBAI archives for the next 13 days (sorry, it was a fund-raising
show-feel free to make a donation):
