I recently heard Henry Morgan on a CD I have and thought he was very amusing.
Does
anyone out there have any suggestions on other programs he appeared on which
might
be available?

This is obviously either:
a) a late April Fool's joke
b) a tribute to his wife's heritage
c) a clever ploy to see if we're reading his submissions
As for Ichiro's biggest hit, my handy-dandy internet translation
service assures me the "Kohaku Uta" means "amber song" in Japanese
but cannot find a translation for "gassen." However this is the
German word for "lanes." So the mystery [removed]
Surely this Japanese singer has nothing to do with old-time

did Kraft Music Hall feature enka singers when I wasn't paying
attention? Perhaps Durante had them on his show and encouraged them
with his familiar phrase: "Enka-Denka-Doo."

Dear Friends on Digest:
Charlie first of all you do a great job at this digest and list and i look
forward to each issue. Can someone explain to me something i heard while
listening to Jack Benny. On more than one program, Jack and Dennis talk about
Dennis' salary and the salary is like 8000 dollars or something similar> If
anyone can shed some light i;d be greatful. Also, does anyone remember Night
Flight 76 on WJR radio weeknights with Jay Roberts. I grew into teenhood
listening to the kind of music Roberts played. It was Big Band and
easylistening, like Al Marciano or Nat King Cole and he often featured Old
Time
Radio shows late into the evening. If anyone has any recorded material of
this
show- id love to have a copy. This show was soooo important to my music and
OTR
interests today. God Bless Everyone!
