Dear Folks-

Re: Sean's Simon Jones [removed]

Simon is a joy to know. For those NY-area listers who can't wait for FOTR,
he often works here with his own stage group, TACT, where he was kind enough
to use me last year. And his HITCHIKER work is so beloved, that I hear that a
few American fans traveled to England for the recent reunion/tribute event.

He's also a pleasure to be at mic with. I last faced him as "Marc Antony"
out there in that farthest-flung bastion of The Roman Empire, Newark! (Sean,
please thank Mrs. Dougherty again, for her very kind words about our work in
Arthur Anderson's - former Mercury's "Lucius" - recreation.)

I "Cassius"-ed that time around; for those who leaven their OTR with a dash
of MAD, here's a link to a production where I wore the Toga of the character
that dear departed Jeff David played with us at FOTR, "Brutus":

Subject: Alexander Courage

Hi,
In the last issue, mention was made of the passing of
Alexander Courage and the fact that he wrote the theme music
for the Adventures of Sam Spade. I have always been intrigued
by the introductory theme music and I was wondering if this is
Courage's music. Whenever I have looked up the theme music
for the show, mention is only made of Goodnight Sweetheart. Is
there a name for the introductory theme? Is there any
extended playing of it other than on the Sam Spade Adventures?
