Subject:  Playlist for assisted living

It might be that the original idea of Iain shows from the fifties was the
problem. If these folks are in assisted living they more then likely were
more into early TV then radio. You might try programs they heard as teens or
earlier, shows from the forties. Variety shows and comedies. Just a thought.

Gary was asking for shows for an assisted living place.  He said that
Gunsmoke, Dragnet, and YTJD did not go over well.  He might try comedies such
as Fibber McGee and Molly, Jack Benny, Our Miss Brooks, Charlie McCarthy.

Subject:  assisted living facilities

I have also presented programs at similar facilities.  They seem to enjoy
comedies like Burns and Allen and Jack Benny.  I have also interspersed video
and commentary with the audio.  If you have a mixed group, try the comedies. 
With men's groups they seem to enjoy the childhood westerns - The Lone
Ranger, Red Ryder, etc.

Regardless of the programs you present, I am sure your audience is
appreciative.
