The August posting for SPERDVAC Presents is June Foray. June was a great
friend to SPERDVAC, always willing to help. She attended most of our
conventions and shared her talent whenever asked. At this September 20, 1980
meeting she shared her memories of how she got started working in radio and
the people she worked with, including Steve Allen, Smilin' Ed McConnell and
Stan Freberg. Also included are many clips of her work and her many voices
that are still entertaining audiences around the world today. It's hard to
believe this was 37 years ago! Go to
[removed] to listen or download. Also,
here's a link to an obituary which discusses her radio work.

Subject: Top Secret
I was listening to an episode of Nightbeat and at the end of the program the
announcer said to stay tuned for "Top Secret". I never heard of this program
before. I found this series at the radio archives site but the quality was
so so. I wonder how any more (available) programs are out there that are
rather obscure.
Anne Walker
[ADMINISTRIVIA: Admittedly Top Secret isn't heard as much as others, but I'm
not sure I'd call it "obscure." Heck, just ran an episode of it on
SummersTime back in [removed] then I admit having been in the hobby for
so long, I like to listen to the less-popular programs and share them with
everyone.
If you haven't heard Top Secret, join me for SummersTime next Monday at
6:00pm EDT on RadioOnceMore at [removed] - I'm running
another episode of Top Secret, a Big Show where Bob Hope gets the finger,
direct from the comic books an episode from the syndicated Adventures of Dick
Cole (maybe another program that might qualify as "obscure?"), and a personal
fav, Let George Do it.
Ok, enough with the commercial. ;) --cfs3
