There are a couple of applications you could use to capture audio, any audio,
that comes through your computer. B This is especiallyhelpful when the url's
are hidden, particularly with something like the BBC webpage that streams
archived audio on [removed] is pc only and is called Total Recorder and the
Mac version is Audio Hijack. B I am not sure if Total Recorder has a timer
that allowsunattended recording but Audio Hijack does. B Not sure of the Mac
price but the standard Total Recorder software is $17. B Each is availablevia
download only. B As far as I know, there are no cd's to send for and receive
and the user's manual is online only. B It's cheaper!
I was compelled to write because of the note sent from Mr. Salerno, mentioning
the Harry Lime and Goon Shows. B Normally there isno way not to listen to
these on demand only. B This is your audio TIVO, so to [removed] Just my two

Anyone familiar with the summer 1945 "Chase and Sanborn Program" that featured
Frances Langford and Spike Jones? Need to know who the uncredited
producer/writers were--same as Edgar Bergen's by chance? Thanks in advance.

Subject: Re: Peg in the Hall of Fame.
Folks;
Received this from Bob Burchett, formerly chairman of the Cincinnati Old
Time Radio and Nostalgia Convention regarding Peg Lynch:
- --
She really should reallybe in the Radio Hall of Fame.
According to the Radio Hall of Fame website, it looks like nominations for 2015
were announced on August 6 with voting to be held this month, inductees to be
announced
August 31, and the induction ceremony to be held on November 5 so it doesn't
look
like there is any chance for Peg this year. Agnes Moorehead was inducted in
2014,
but I believe the last show from the age of OTR to be honored was The Great
Gildersleeve
in 2011 and the last performer from the age of old-time radio to be inducted
was
Jimmy Durante in 2007 so it may be an uphill fight to get Peg inducted. There
are
only a few writers in the RHOF including Norman Corwin and Fran Striker so that
would be the logical category for her. The fact that Peg was one of the few
women
writing and starring in her own series should make her a strong candidate for
the
RHOF. The best thing to do is to have your friends click on the link
nominations@[removed]
at the Radio Hall of Fame website and send e-mails early and often in the
coming
months so Peg Lynch can be inducted posthumously at one of the future
ceremonies.
