Subject: Radio -- Tool Of The Devil?

X-Converted-To-Plain-Text: Alternative section used was text/plain
Many years ago I heard a story that went something like this:
"In the earliest days of radio, religious fundamentalists were appalled at
the appearance of radio. They declared it a 'tool of the devil.' Then
someone realized that they could make money with [removed]"
Is there any basis in fact for this story?

Subject: Sam Spade rare episode
Does anyone have a lo-gen copy (reel) of Sam Spade "the Convertible
Caper"? I realize it's in poor sound - a poor transfer and a
high-generation copy. If I can get the lowest generation copy I can find,
I can make it sound a little better, at least, and time-correct it. Anyone
know from whom this came originally?
Anyway, if anyone has a halfway decent reel of it, I'd like to purchase it,
so I can make the transfer myself.
And, always looking for Charlie Chan and the Lanini mystery - quality
copies. Also, most any Radio Yesteryear reels, especially ones that might
have different or obscure shows on it.
