Subject: Arthur Godfrey and L'affaire La Rosa

I recently wrote up a piece about Arthur Godfrey for my blog, the gist of
which was the abrupt dismissal of Julius La Rosa from "the Little Godfreys."
A reader sent me an email about it that included a request:

"I remember that, after that occurred, there was a song going around on the
radio about the incident. I remember the tune and that the words of the
chorus were: "humility, humility, Julius lost his humility." I can't locate
the song on the internet and was wondering if you knew where I might find
either the lyrics or a recording of it."

I've read a ton of material on this incident, and this is the first I've
heard of a satiric song. Does anyone on list know the details?

Thanks,
Michael

Dear Folks-

As we've moved into the digital age, and things like Audacity make it
possible to make a good recording even better, wonder if anyone knows of an
online source that details solid info about ACTUAL [removed]'s of vintage shows?

For instance: how long should an entire-with-head-and-tail "one-hour"
Mercury, or "half-hour" Jack Benny show, run? My memory seems to tell me
that
vets have mentioned their productions needing to leave at least :15 sec at
the tail for the Net; but I wondered if there's backup for that, if it
changed over the years, [removed]

Of course, answers on-board or off- are welcome, too.

Happy Prez Week,
-Craig
