To answer Paul K's question, the radio episodes of "My Little Margie" were
not recorded from TV broadcasts. They are completely different, with a
different supporting cast (including Verna Felton as Mrs. Odetts), and mostly
new scripts.

More info is in my book "Gale Storm: A Biography and Career Record,"
published last year by McFarland.

Paul Kattelman asks if the radio version was separate from the TV show, or did
they just broadcast the audio track of the TV version.

They were different productions, not simulcasts, and we know this because the
minor characters in the show were different people. Although the two leads
were still Gale Storm and Charles Farrell, their backups were not the same. In
the TV show Don Hayden played Freddie Wilson; on radio he was played by Gil
Stratton, Jr. TV's Mrs. Odetts was Gertrude Hoffman while Verna Felton was
that same lady on radio. Clarence Kolb was Mr. Honeywell on the TV show but
Will Wright portrayed him on radio.

This popular TV show began on 6-16-52 and alternated between networks NBC and
CBS until it ended in August 1955. CBS brought out the radio version on
December 7, 1952 and it ran weekly, just as the TV show did. It also aired
briefly on Mutual but was usually on Sunday nights. The TV time slot and day
were moved several times as the show aired on four different nights over the
four years. Radio show ended on June 26, 1955, about 2 months before the TV
show did. There are approximately 20 audio copies of the radio show in common
currency, but about half are undated.

Hi all,
As I remember, the My Little Margie TV and radio series were two
distinctly separate productions, with different supporting casts.

Hello,

I am looking for collection of music library files such as the NBC radio
music library from the 1950s. For example I have the complete opening
theme song of the Six Shooter Highland Lament created by Basil Adlam and I
would like to find all of the bridge music of the Six Shooter radio show
that ran from 1953 through 1954. I understand that Pioneers was the
label that put out Highland Lament. Take care,

Walden Hughes
