Subject:  Copy Closing Down

Folks;

   [removed] is closing down at the end of this week. Those of you who already
have access to the OTR Digest Shared Folder should have already received a
note from me; the rest of you should consider grabbing access to the new
site.  ;)

   Let me take just a minute to explain; a few years ago I started a folder
on the cloud-storage system [removed] to share files related to Old-Time Radio
and the Digest. In that folder is stuff I think is interesting or related to
specific discussions here, freely available to any Digest subscriber
interested. There are audio and video documentaries; programs from the BBC;
episodes from The Bob Edwards Show where he interviewed folks related to OTR;
an episode of Remember WENN guest starring everyone's favorite hitchhiker
Simon Jones; a bunch of War of the Worlds material including the 1957 episode
of Studio One, "The Night America Trembled," which re-created it; television
episodes of programs from radio like Boston Blackie, Richard Diamond, even
The Shadow; and a bunch more! None of this is ever "forced" on you, you may
download whatever you wish whenever you wish.

   With Copy closing down, all the files there have been moved to a new cloud
storage system, which also provides free (yes, completely free) accounts to
anyone interested. You do NOT need to install anything to your computer, as
the system has a perfectly functional web-based service, yet you can also
install desktop and mobile apps to connect to those files directly from your
computer or telephone/tablet. The only information you need to supply is an
email address, so feel free to grab an address from Hotmail or another free
email service if you're concerned about spam (FWIW, I've had this account for
a few months and haven't received any yet).

   And since the OTR Digest can only receive up to 20G total in free space,
once you get an account please send me your own referral link and I'll
include it in the rotation for free [removed] sense blasting out the
Digest's link to everyone and wasting the extra 1G of space, you know?

   Over the weekend, to celebrate the move to pCloud, I'll add an episode of
the television version of Gangbusters from 1952 to the "Radio On TV" folder!
(And a feature of pCloud is the ability to set upload [removed] you have
anything in your collection you'd like to, "share with the class," drop me a
note and I'll send you the link to an upload page!)

   For information on accessing this material (again, completely free - you
don't pay pCloud, and you don't pay me), drop me an email at
listmaster@[removed] and I'll, "write full details." And special thanks to
the folks who tested the systems I was [removed] think we picked a
winner. (Let's all hope it continues to operate for a few [removed] ;)

         Charlie
