X-Converted-To-Plain-Text: from multipart/alternative
X-Converted-To-Plain-Text: Alternative section used was text/plain
I've been watching DVDs of the TV version of "Father Knows Best" lately,
and listening to some of the radio shows. And as I look up various online
articles on both series, I see it repeated several times as an unsourced
article of faith, that the radio show always ended in a question mark.
Title:
"Father Knows Best?" And perhaps that would fit the differently-styled
character for the radio version of Jim Anderson.
But I can't see or hear anything to really back this up. When I listen to
the radio show, I never hear the announcer ask the title, he affirms it,
the way the announcer always did in the opening credits of the TV show. And
when I checked the [removed] website, the NBC radio publicity
materials and magazine clippings they show, always spell out the title
without the question mark. There's not even one on the radio show's studio
audience ticket seen on the site.
So does anyone know the origin of the story, and any place that documents
or otherwise confirms the question mark, other than the story being retold
time and again? Maybe Robert Young or other cast members even retell this
anecdote but can anyone document it from say, a vintage radio magazine
article?
Dixon

Subject: SPERDVAC Luncheon in November
Hello,
I have been following the cast lists for the SPERDVAC luncheon, as
they continue to grow.
The luncheon will be an exciting one with many fine performers in attendance.
John and I were asked to Emcee the luncheon and so we are now getting
ready to take on that exciting chore.
We look forward to seeing many of our friends in November and hope
you will join us if you find yourself in the Los Angeles area.
Larry Gassman
