Casite Motor Honey. It's still made and the company still makes many

Subject: re: Heavenly Days & other coming radio books
To avoid confusion on Heavenly Days, let me say that the book is officially
out of print. I had reprinted it for Charles Stumpf for a time, but due to
circumstances beyond anyone's control, I had to let it sadly fall out of
print again. I love the book, and I love Charles Stumpf. It's a real shame.
The good news is that I have about 4 copies left. And between Clair Schulz's
new book:

the Scrapbook I put together:
[removed]
and a detailed log book coming one of these days from another author, Fibber
will be well covered. In fact, there's a GREAT Great Gildersleeve book on the
horizon as well. More details on that when I have a release date for it.
And in other radio book news, we've just released a massive book on Superman
on radio & TV:
[removed]
Plus, the long-awaited book of Sam Spade Scripts edited by Martin Grams is
nearing the FINAL stage. Look for that soon here:

Though we have more TV and actor books these days than anything else, we do
have a lot of radio titles coming. For instance, a very good book by a UK
writer on the Flywheel, Shyster and Flywheel series. Plus a BIG book about
Verna Felton. Plus, June Foray's autobiography is Finally going to be out at
the end of July! More info on all these ASAP!

Google Casite and I think you will find your answer - they are still in
business. I do remember this product from years ago.

Since it appears that "Heavenly Days" is expensive no matter where you go, I
have two copies for sale. I have a ton of Bear Manor Media books in stock up
in my loft, as many are aware that I sell Bear Manor Media books at
conventions like the recent Williamsburg Film Festival and Cincinnati OTR
Conventions. Price is $25 plus postage and that is the cover price -- I am not
raising the price beyond cover price.
The extended price range for out of print books is not uncommon -- especially
during the past two years. When books go out of print, the price either goes
up or down but unless there are a ton in quality being liquidated, the price
goes up. Two of my own books are now out of print and I have seen people
selling those books for more than $300 on various sites. There's an old
saying: buy it when it's available or take the chance you pay more later.

Subject: Radio Spirits' new shows
I'm very curious about the new episodes of Phil Harris/Alice Faye, the Green
Hornet, and the Shadow that Radio Spirits has released. Can anybody who has
heard them comment on the quality of the shows? I have a number of Radio
Spirits sets, and I am often disappointed in them. They often edited shows to
fit more on a cd. Also, the sound quality was occasionally very poor. (I just
listened to a Richard Diamond episode that had terrible cross-talk
throughout--and had his concluding song at Helen's cut out!) I've also found,
as another digester has noted, that they sometimes advertise shows as "new"
that they have in fact released before.
I know the company is under new ownership, and I'd like to think that they've
fixed the mistakes of the past. But I'm reluctant to start shelling out big
bucks for a substandard product. Can anybody confirm that the quality of the
shows is good? Their sets cost the same as, for example, a premium collection
from First Generation Radio Archives, but I know FGRA puts a lot of effort
into capturing the cleanest sound possible. I'm not an audiophile per se but
I've heard enough muddy or wrong-speed shows to not want to bother with more.
Also, they have a number of Shadow sets on their website. Which ones contain
the new episodes?
Lastly, where in the world did they find new Shadow episodes? It's not like
Shadow transcriptions are easy to come by.
Thanks,
Kermyt

Subject: A Found Treasure Rarer than Tut's
I apologize if anyone else has already posted this, but: While rummaging around the Classic TV section of the Internet Archive recently, I stumbled upon a 15 minute TV version of Vic and Sade available for downloading and viewing. Even more remarkable, it stars Art Van Harvey and Bernadine Flynn!
The program is crudely filmed and even more crudely set-up; but it is unmistakably one of Paul Rhymer's great scripts. There is no set--just Vic, Sade, and Rush clearly reading their lines from scripts while seated in front of microphones.
Rush is played by a youth named "Eddie Gillilan" who is a dead sound-alike for Bill Idelson. (I can find no other information on Gillilan in the Internet Movie database (IMdB) for him. Anyone out there know what became of him?)
The program is sandwiched between a simple hand-drawn card reading "The Humor of VIC N SADE" and a brief crawl at the end listing the cast. No date is given, but extant Wikipedia info determines it as one of the 15-minute 1957 programs. That would be the very summer Mr. Harvey died, and frankly, he looks (but does not sound) quite unhealthy.
I was so delighted to uncover this little treasure that I did not care what shape it was in. King Tut wasn't exterminated by his sponsor the way Vic and Sade was, so I hope other OTR fans as are happy with this treasure as I was. Find it at [removed].
Subsequently, I also found the same program available for download at [removed] I pass along all this knowledge only as a humble ladle-dipper for fellow Drowsy Stars of the Milky Way. Sic semper hilaritus!

Hi all,
I get the digest version of the list, so please forgive any duplication.
Someone had posted about "Casite" and mentioned a Popular Science cover.
To add to this, just go to [removed] and click on "advanced
search"
Then type casite in the search box and search for full-text magazines.
Using this, I pulled a whole list of Popular Science and Popular Mechanics
that had references to this. Gotta love that [removed] issue
of Popular Mechanics, etc!
Hope this helps!
