While I was reading Jerry Haendiges posting about all the songs Isham Jones'
had written (It Had To Be You, Swinging Down The Lane, The One I Love, etc),
it reminded me of a story I read one time. A woman was introduced to Jerome
Kern, and greeted him with "So you're the man who wrote Old Man River"?
Jerome Kern corrected the lady with, "No Maam, Oscar Hammersteir II wrote Old
Man River, I am the man who wrote Dum, Dum, Dum Dum. In the same vein,
Isham Jones wrote none of the above songs. My very favorite songwriter of
all time, Gus Kahn wrote all of those songs. What a wonderful lyricist.
If you ever get a chance to see his biopic, "I'll See You In My Dreams", do
not miss it.

I am looking for a Paul Whiteman broadcast from April 3, 1947 featuring Al
Gallodoro. Concerto for Doubles is the piece. Would also love to find
recordings of the Concerto for Doubles by Hermann, Filas and McBride. All
written for Gallodoro from 1936 to 1947 period.
