Subject: Dance Bands on the Air, 1929-1934
I don't normally talk up a broadcast after the fact, but I wanted to share
the great time I had during last weekend's "Those Were the Days" program, as
our friend Karl Pearson joined us for an afternoon of broadcasts featuring
dance bands from 1929-1934 (featuring the likes of Hoagy Carmichael, Ethel
Waters, George Olsen, the Dorsey Brothers, Ted Weems, Rudy Vallee, and
others) and I urge those of you who didn't hear it to check out the streaming
version that'll be up through this week at [removed].
