Grouch & Chico Marx may have first appeared on radio in 1930, But they
did have series from 11/28/32 until 5/22/33 that was called Flywheel,
Shyster & Flywheel (Name of the law firm)
Both Harpo and Arthur Marx report that the show, or the law firm, was
originally "Beagle, Shyster & Beagle." A real-life attorney Beagle
threatened to sue, with the result that the name was changed to
"Flywheel, Shyster & Flywheel." According to Harpo, they explained
the change by having a secretary tell someone on the phone that her
boss had gotten a divorce and resumed his maiden name.
This was some years before Groucho's role as "Wolf J. Flywheel,
Attorney at Law" in "At the Circus."

My favorite is also a Fibber McGee & Molly show, but the one about wanting a
white Christmas tree. The exchange between the McGee's and Mrs. Uppington
is the highlight for me--and it isn't even about Christmas. It's about
hunting dogs.

Subject: Christmas Shows
It's that time again - when we old time radio fans reminisce about radio
shows of the past that had Christmas themes.
In the 60s and 70s, WTIC in Hartford, CT, had two nostalgic hours each
month - "The Golden Age of Radio," with Dick Bertel, and "A One Night Stand
with the Big Bands," with Arnold Dean. At our Website,
[removed] , you can find all the Golden Age shows and most of
the One Night Stands. Three of the Golden Age shows are Christmas-themed,
and include excerpts from "Grand Central Station," "The Couple Next Door,"
and Fred Allen's Christmas show about Santa's elves going on strike, among
many others. Check them out, and happy holidays to all.

Subject: Grandfather in Radio
I was referred by [removed] to find out if you have any
information about a gentleman named Alex or Alexander Frazer.
He was my Grandfather and have been told he was in radio probably on
the east coast of Canada and possibly in New York from late 30's into
the 40's. He moved to Hollywood in 1946-47 to become an actor. I
have his film credits but wanted to maybe hear his radio programs.
Thank you in advance for any information you may be able to find.
