I provided liner notes for an Abbott and Costello collection for Radio
Spirits. One of this set's selections was a Bill Stern broadcast with Bud and
Lou as his guest stars. IIRC, they appeared on the strength of their
ever-popular baseball-themed routine "Who's on First?"
Bill Stern furnished a backstory that had William Abbott and Louis Cristillo
first meeting as high school basketball team opponents. That's hard to fathom
since Abbott was eleven years older than Costello. Bud Abbott never lived
anywhere near Costello's home town of Paterson NJ.
I guess that makes Bill Stern a "baaaaad boy!"

Subject: Promo for show, 1957

A. Joseph Ross said, regarding the lack of promos for the Stan Freberg show
"I'm not even sure there were promos for the show on CBS radio or on the
local CBS station."

That reminded me that when I transferred over 900 hours of, mostly, broadcast
content from 563 reels of tape I picked up at an estate sale, I heard a local
promo for X Minus One. It was for "The Seventh Victim" which was broadcast
on March 6, 1957.

Select "Reel 2" and it's the 3 item from that reel. It is at the end of the
new broadcast, 4:45 into the recording.
