Hi All,
Does anyone have any information or know where I might find some for 'That
Was The Year', a syndicated series from the 30s?

"The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle" (1939) was the last of nine
Astaire-Rogers pics at RKO. V&I Castle were a ballroom dance
couple famous in the early part of the 20th Century.
And I think Marge and Gower Champion were brother and sister.
Dancers have always been poorly represented on radio. Seems a shame.

Subject: got my living room OTR console
I got the console for my OTR living room stereo. A
Silvertone 4786 w. green tuning eye. Was in pretty
decent shape for an as-is radio, the finish has some
dings and needs cleaning, but it works, even in
unfixed state, but is stuck on WLW because of the
tuner. Having it work was a bonus. I had a lot of
Philcos and Zeniths to choose from, but I thought the
Silvertone looked the best. I just need it to hide
some speakers in it (without altering the radio). Pic
of a restored one:

After some cosmetic work, it'll look super. I also
bought a 1940 Philco Chairside. Restored one at

Also needs some cosmetic work and electronic work if I
want it to work.
For the bedroom, I got a repro of the 1949 Coca-Cola
cooler. Hooked up a cassette adapter to my mp3/wav
player. Currently listening to the Rudy Valle's
Sunshine Hour I transferrred recently.

Subject: Radio Spirits
Have any of you been using Radio Spirits' new on line program: 30 day free
trial to down load and stream old radio shows? I just joined the thing for
30 days and have been having a devil of a time downloading and listening to
[removed] get messages saying I need a license, codecs, when I thought all
that was taken care of. No response from Radio Spirits. I was able to
download two shows
but only through luck and trial and [removed] nothing works! What have
been your experiences?

This afternoon, I dug out an old vinyl record of The Right To Happiness. At

fats "until the Japs stop fighting." Devon Wilkins.
