Subject: Book reviews
Hello All,
I am now writing book reviews for Sperdvac's RADIOGRAM magazine on a
freelance basis. If you are an author of a book about OTR that has
recently been published, or will be published soon, and would like me to
review the book for Radiogram (and possibly Bob Burchett's OLD TIME RADIO
DIGEST) please contact me. If your book is being published by a
publishing house, feel free to let me know so I can contact them for a
review copy.
And yes, Hal, I'll expect your check in the mail, I don't take much
"convincing" (ie: cash) to write a glowing review. :-) (Just kidding

Joe Solerno requested a website for calendars. I use the following
for my log work:

I put in the years 1936 through 1961 and printed out a set of masters
to allow me to work offline. The moving holidays are reflected in
this sites lists which is often helpful in IDing programs by public service
announcement.

played in radio as a child.

Try Chambord (sp?) over peaches, ice cream, etc. It's a raspberry liqueur.
Comes in a round bottle with a crown. YUM!

Elizabeth McLeod <lizmcl@[removed]; answers:
Lindbergh was an absolute unknown in November 1926, and he did *not*
attend NBC's inaugural broadcast.
Thanks Elizabeth, I really suspected that Lindbergh did not attend
this affair. Are there any pictures of this gala event? NBC spent
quite a lot of money on the opening, surely someone took a picture
or two.

As another one of the hundreds of fans who knew and loved him, I too grieve
for Parley. At the same time I am elated with the good news about Bob
Hastings recovery progress. There are far too few of these wonderful people
left.
I also am writing to request some assistance. I am looking for copies of
ROGERS OF THE GAZETTE (starring Will Rogers, Jr.) in either MP3 or cassette.
Will trade or buy. I can't seem to find it anywhere. I'm sure it exists
(Jay's marvelous reference says so)! Also is there anyone out there who would
like to exchange otr scripts? I'm tried of transcribing them by hand. thanks
and I hope everyone has a safe , happy and healthy Thanksgiving, Gary Yoggy

The dealers room is sold out for the convention.
Some of our regular dealers wanted an extra table.
They have been loyal to our convention and have
first pick if there are extra tables available.
I will start a waiting list if someone cancels.
I now have a flyer that gives basic information about
the hotel, map, and dates. (April 11-12, 2003)

Subject: Festival in Iowa
Here is a chance for someone (or some people) to expand OTR in a new venue.
Please respond to Bob if you can help. He has been doing his festival as
long as FOTR has been having conventions. Jay
The NTCMA (National Traditional Country Music Assn) is
in the process of moving it's festival from Avoca,
Iowa, to larger quarters in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
Dates being Aug 25-31. We are devoted to the
preservation and performance of old-time acoustic
music, with many varieties of the music represented.
Since we have larger quarters and an open mind, we'd
like to extend an invitation to anyone in old-time
radio that might have any ideas on expanding your own
interests via one of our stages during our festival.
We're open to anything that might let all of us know
the importance of radio, especially in music, from the
past. Our website is [removed], and
our e-mail is bobeverhart@[removed] Looking forward
to hearing from anyone that might be able to help us
expand old-time radio interest here in the Midwest.
