Frank McGurn asked --
I would assume that taking off his mask would be enough of a
disguise, because know body, except Tonto and his nephew, knows what he
looks like with out the mask Isn't that enough of a disguise?
Maybe having pale skin where his mask covered his face would be
enough. Sort of like a raccoon in a negative. :)

Subject: Re: Earliest Radio Commercial
The story I sort of grew up with here in Cincinnati is that the radio
commercial was invented by Smilin' Ed McConnell when he worked for WLW.
Ed had suggested to the owner of the drug store across from the station
that he'd plug the store on the air for $[removed] dollars a week.
The druggist said this was too expensive.
McConnell then asked if he'd pay 10 cents for every customer who entered
the store and said "Ed McConnell sent me." This was accepted.
According to the tale McConnell's take was $[removed] the first week.
I've never been especially sold on this yarn but I include it for
whatever historical value it may have.
Sincerely,
George Wagner
